Facebook the Movie?

August 30, 2008
August 30, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – A number of reports have suggested that a movie will be made with the social network Facebook as the subject matter. According to the reports, Aaron Sorkin, the creator of award winning TV drama ‘The West Wing’ and writer of Tom Hanks’ film ‘Charlie Wilson's War’, has been earmarked to make the film, which will be about the company’s founders, Mark Zuckerberg and Dustin Moskovitz. Some reports suggest Sorkin knows little about Facebook and its influence on popular culture.

"I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I've started this page,” a number of sources reported Sorkin, aged 47, as saying. Given his lack of Facebook savvy, he is looking to Facebook users for guidance. “If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer them as best I can. If anyone has any comments, I'm glad to listen," he is reported as saying.

Facebook, founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, has more than 100 million users worldwide. Zuckerberg estimated total revenues for 2008 are in the $350 million range. Speculation abounds that Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, action star Jean-Claude Van Damme and comedian Michael Anthony Richards of Seinfeld fame have been slated for leading roles, while other reports suggest this as total fiction.
