Fat Port Installs High Speed Wireless Network for HI

March 20, 2005
March 20, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – ISP FatPort and Hostelling International (HI) Vancouver Downtown have completed the installation of a highspeed wireless Internet network to respond to increased business traveler demand.

In recent years, the HI has become a low-cost alternative for business and student travelers. Coupled with the fast increasing use of mobile computers, FatPort’s wireless Internet access was a natural fit.

“Low-cost hospitality doesn’t mean that guests go without amenities.” States FatPort’s VP of Sales and Marketing, Gary Stahlbrand. “The hostels managed by Hostelling International are increasingly in demand as a place to stay by business and student travels, all who are using laptops to keep in touch.”

“FatPort really understood values of Hostelling International,” states Alan Hoffman, GM of HI Vancouver Downtown. “As leaders and innovators within the hostelling community, we make an ongoing commitment to "finding a better way" and sharing our expertise. FatPort provided an economical, high quality product, and were willing to work with us to ensure our unique needs were met.”
