 |
May 9, 2006 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Globat.com (http://www.globat.com) is continuing its attention grabbing Defying Gravity series of oddball marketing stunts, this time sponsoring a familys hamburger eating trip. The family from Schulenburg, Texas, USA will drive 400 miles to a St. Louis, Missouri-area White Castle to eat 100 of the restaurants famous mini-hamburgers each.
Terri Scott, daughter Kerri Gomez and Kerri's boyfriend GW Whitfield wanted to taste a White Castle hamburger (called a "slider") and organized an eBay auction to pay for their trip. The trio will start their journey on May 9, 2006 and will not leave their chosen White Castle until each has eaten their full 100-burger target. Globat.com stepped in to provide support and during the familys trip they will don tattoos of Globats logo and wear Globat uniforms.
"Talk about loving your beef! These three Texans certainly give Harold and Kumar a run for their money," said Ben R. Neumann, President and CEO of Globat.com, referring to the 2004 film, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. "It is electrifying ideas and events such as this we are happy to get behind to make people see that creativity is still key, and that web hosting is not as unexciting as it might sound to some folks." |
