Go Daddy Voted “Favorite Linux-Friendly Web Hosting Company”

June 13, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Go Daddy (http://www.godaddy.com) has been voted “Favorite Linux-Friendly Web Hosting Company”, it was reported yesterday. The title was awarded by Linux Journal magazine whose readers voted for Go Daddy during its annual “Readers’ Choice Awards”.

Go Daddy has developed its Linux hosting offerings with initiatives such as adding “Crons” to allow customers to run scheduled tasks. The company has also added Database Backup and Restore options alongside the ability to integrate Google Webmaster Tools and Password Protected Directories to control access to certain web pages.

The initiatives have certainly paid off. “Obviously, Go Daddy has made tremendous strides with our readership,” suggested Carlie Fairchild, the publisher of the Linux Journal.

The award is one of a number awarded to Go Daddy recently. The company was voted “Best Registrar” by Domain Name Wire, awarded “Domainers Choice Award for Best Hosting Company – 2008”, and the company appeared on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list last year.

Go Daddy caters to more than five million customers and bills is regarded as “the world's largest domain name registrar”, managing more than 29 million domain names.
