GoDaddy.com to Market and Operate .ME Extension Domain Names

January 21, 2008
January 21, 2008 – (HOSTEARCH.COM) – GoDaddy.com (http://www.godaddy.com) is in a three-way joint partnership with Afilias Global Registry Services and Me-Net which was chosen by the government of Montenegro to “market and operate” the .ME extension domain names due to be launched later this year.

"We're excited about the phenomenal potential of .ME and our ability to market it to you, all web users, as well as other registrars – and of course we’ll promote it in true GoDaddy-esque style," suggested Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of Go Daddy. "Couple .ME with our first-in-class customer support and the registry systems of Afilias and the possibilities are unlimited."

GoDaddy.com established doMEn as the operational body that will oversee and support the new registry. All registrars will be asked to sell the domains, which anyone can use, regardless of whether they are from Montenegro or not.

“To take full advantage of .ME, it needs to be properly promoted and properly managed. We have an unparalleled track record in promoting domain names and keeping customers happy,” Mr. Parsons added. “Afilias has an impeccable record when it comes to managing domain extensions. We offer the complete package to catapult .ME into the International mainstream.”
