GreenGeeks has enhanced its shared hosting platform. GreenGeeks, which has headquarters in Agoura Hills, California, United States, offers a wide range of hosting services including shared, reseller, VPS and dedicated server packages. Recognized as the leading green provider in the industry, the company leverages wind energy to offer services. The latest enhancement is designed to increase the “performance, reliability and scalability” of its offerings.
GreenGeeks’ move underscores its mission to “offer best in-class web hosting services”. The company has begun the deployment of 100% RAID-10 SSD-based (Solid State Drives) servers. Over recent years SSD drives have been gaining favor over traditional 'spinning disk' hard disks. With no moving parts they are faster and more efficient, resulting in improved page loading times. RAID-10 SSD offers even more benefits as far as speed and redundancy are concerned. GreenGeeks’ new SSD configuration replaces the company’s previous SSD-cache based platform.
All new customers will immediately benefit from the new platform while a “transition plan” has been put in place for existing customers. Alongside the SSD upgrade, GreenGeeks’ shared and reseller hosting servers will now offer PHP7 as default and offer real-time security monitoring improvements. Alongside “various other optimizations” users will also be able to scale resources including I/O, memory and CPU.
