Web Host Hosted Solutions adds Christopher Turco to Executive Team
April 16, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Following last week’s announcement that web host Hosted Solutions was acquired by Boston-based ABRY Partners for $140 million, the company has added Christopher “Kip” Turco to its executive team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Turco has known Hosted Solutions’ CEO Rich Lee for many years and the two were competitors just seven years ago.
Mr. Turco’s engagement is the opening move in a strategy that will see Hosted Solutions bring “a dozen planned new hires” to its Raleigh, North Carolina, USA headquarters. His role as COO will involve him in “overseeing all operations for the business” and refining the company’s “methodologies and best practices as it expands”.
“Everything we’re doing right now positions us to take the company to the next level,” says Rich Lee, Founder and CEO of Hosted Solutions. “Our recent partnership with ABRY Partners provides us with the capital to accelerate our growth, and now that Kip is on board, we have more executive firepower. As we aggressively expand the company and move into new markets, he will help us scale the business effectively, get stronger operationally and be more disciplined in our processes.”
Prior to joining Hosted Solutions Mr. Turco’s roles included Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering at Motricity, where he helped the company “grow from $35 million to more than $100 million”. Prior to this he spent 5 years at national data center provider Inflow (later acquired by Sungard). Turco is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and was commissioned as an infantry officer. He later became a Platoon Leader and Rifle Company Commander with the United States Army for the 10th Mountain Division and 25th Infantry Division respectively.
