Web Hosting Provider Host Gator Announces Further Contingency Plans
November 30, 2005 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – The increasing frequency of hurricanes in the Florida region and one of the worst hurricane seasons on record have driven web hosting provider Host Gator to introduce further contingency plans as part of its Disaster Recovery and Redundancy Plan (DRRP). Despite Host Gator managing recent events without disrupting customers’ services, the exceptional circumstances prevalent this year forced the company to re-examine disaster contingency plans.
To ensure customers receive 99.9% uptime Host Gator has included a string of initiatives into their procedures. These include ensuring customer service and support staff remain onsite during hurricanes and disasters to maintain consistent client support, continued offsite data backup for all customers, power generators and gas reserves to overcome fuel shortages and power outages, increasing network connectivity, and relocating administration and customer service functions to hurricane-resistant facilities.
