Web Hosting Provider Hostgator.com Suspends Hate Site
December 15, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Hostgator.com has suspended a website because of its anti-Muslim content, it was reported this week. The action came after the Tampa, Florida Office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Tampa) called for suspension of the hate site which supported calls to "kill all Muslim kids".
The site stated: "Love Your Kids? Fear For Their Future? Kill All Muslim Kids" under which the website's Tampa-based owner wrote, "Makes sense to me,” and went on with a range of insults before asserting “we need to kill all Muslim kids. Starting now".
In a letter to Hostgator.com Ahmed Bedier, Executive Director of CAIR-Tampa wrote, "While we respect an individual's right to freedom of speech, we oppose hate-filled speech that calls for violence against innocent people. It's clear that (the website is) in violation of your company's 'Terms of Service' agreement which states, 'Any material that, in our judgment, is obscene or threatening.'"
