Web Host HostGator Goes Green

October 6, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host HostGator (http://www.hostgator.com/) has gone green, it was reported recently. The Houston, Texas-based company has purchased Renewable Energy Credits to offset more than its entire electricity usage. “This is something HostGator has wanted to do for years,” the company’s CEO and President Mr. Brent Oxley was reported as saying.

HostGator has purchased credits from the Horse Hollow Wind Energy Center, noted for being world's largest wind farm, spread over 47,000 acres in Texas, USA. According to HostGator, the credits will offset carbon emissions equivalent to those produced by 444 cars annually.

HostGator offers shared, reseller and dedicated web hosting services for both individuals and organizations. The company’s most popular plan offers 600 GBs of web hosting space, 6,000 GBs of bandwidth, the ability to host an unlimited number of websites, and free setup.
