Hosting and Network Solutions Provider XBT Holding Acquires Russian Telecom Company Edinaya Set
Hosting and network solutions provider XBT Holding S.A. (XBT) has acquired Russian telecom company Edinaya Set. XBT, the parent body of web host Servers.com, has headquarters in Roost, Luxembourg. Established in 2005, the company operates in 8 countries globally, offering a range of products and services which includes managed dedicated hosting, colocation, shared and VPS hosting alongside cloud, web and application development services. It operates 16,000 servers through a network of five carrier-neutral datacenters globally and offers 13 “points of presence” in the United States, Europe and Asia. The purpose of XBT’s acquisition is to establish “regional versions of its services” in the Russian Federation. The company suggests all “achieved agreements are now in effect” as far as the deal is concerned.

The purchase of Edinaya Set enables XBT to meet the legal requirements required to house servers in the Russian Federation (particularly those pertaining to Personal Data) and introduce its services there. This positions the company to be able to offer “unparalleled performance” for its Russian Servers.com customers. The arrangement, which was finalized on August 25th, is poised to facilitate greater expansion in the future.

"We have been looking for a local player which meets our development requirements," explained XBT Holding’s CEO, Aleksej Gubarev. "Edinaya Set' will become the base of our international operations in the region by guaranteeing better and more diversified services. This successful move will provide our customers with new opportunities, and will allow us to launch our project, Servers.com, in Russia under the brand Servers.ru before the end of 2015."

"We have, so far, been developing our portfolio linearly,” added Sergey Krysenko, the Managing Director of Edinaya Set. “It has certainly worked but our newly-formed partnership allows us to improve. The experience we have accumulated, together with XBT's resources, will ensure that our IT infrastructure will receive a needed optimization."
