ServerMania has opened a new data center in Montreal, Canada. ServerMania, whose corporate headquarters are listed as in Ontario, Canada, was established in 2002. The company offers a broad range of services including customizable dedicated, hybrid, cloud, and colocation options. The new center adds to ServerMania’s network of data centers across North America.
ServerMania has always enjoyed considerable growth and its new center in Montreal enables the company to address increasing demand for its services. By complying with Canada’s Safe Data Residency requirements the new facility allows customers to adhere to Canada’s data sovereignty requirements, but as the center is PIPEDA compliant, customers can also “collect and store European data” without risk of breaking the European Union’s strict privacy laws.
The facility offers network speeds of 10 Gbps and low-latency, redundant bandwidth connections to premium Tier 1 carriers. The center is powered by hydro-electric generators and leverages Montreal's cool climate to reduce cooling costs and power consumption. The new center allows ServerMania to set up 20 bare metal server cabinets every 24 hours, and offering up to 40kW of power per cabinet, it is also able to manage “the largest colocation hosting deployments”.
“Our network infrastructure will be future-proof for many years to come,” explained Jay Caissiem the Director of IT at ServerMania. “This Tier 3 data center has the capacity for up to 4000 cabinets, 50 Megawatts of power, and 9 data halls. It allows us to deploy nearly 2 dozen cabinets in less than 24 hours for our colocation customers. From an IaaS perspective, we are confident that customers will find more value with us than any other provider they’ve been with.”
