Host.net Makes Charitable Donation to Open Source Group

Share
January 24, 2005 -- (HOSTSEARCH.COM) -- Host.net recently made a charitable donation to (OCCAID), the Open Contributors Corporation for Advanced Internet Development. Host.net gave hardware, colocation, transit and "remote hands" services to OCCAID to allow them to operate an IPv6 point-of-presence (POP) in the South Florida area. Host.net is hoping to develop a presence in the Internet community and stay involved in the advancement of emerging technologies, such as IPv6.

OCCAID is a not-for-profit education and internet engineering network opened to the public.

OCCAID's focus involves in creating a collaborative environment which allows network researchers and individuals with self-interest in the anatomy of internet routing, to interconnect into a global network for training and development purposes.

OCCAID, with access to the next-generation global IPv6 internet, is also an incubator for the development of the IPv6 internet in North America, by assisting its participants and industry partners in their IPv6 migration.
