Web Hosting Provider and Ecommerce Platforms Provider Offer Secure Online Shopping
October 18, 2005 – (HOSTSERACH.COM) – Web hosting and managed services provider Hostway has partnered with ecommerce platforms provider CardinalCommerce to offer to offer Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode to ecommerce hosting customers who use Hostway's Merchant Manager shopping cart.
Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are increasingly popular programs that offer an extra layer of security for those using Visa and MasterCard for online payments. The programs require users to enter passwords or PINs when making online purchases thus providing reassurance that stolen credit card numbers cannot be used for fraudulent purchases through participating sites. The service is free to card holders.
"Sites that offer Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are very attractive to customers because they add an extra level of security to online purchases. Participating merchants report a nearly 70% reduction in ‘chargebacks’ related to fraudulent charges. 'Chargeback blocking' is automatic, and protection applies to both US and international transactions.
