Web Hosting Company Hostway to Build New Chicago Datacenter |

January 19, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting company Hostway Corporation has announced that it will build a new datacenter in central Chicago, USA. The center will cater for the company’s increasing number of web hosting accounts and be built in the Boeing Building, located by the Chicago River.
Hostway’s new center will cost $200 million and the company intends to invest a further $10 million to meet industry standards for ‘physical security, network availability, fire suppression, cooling and power capacity’. Much of this investment will be spent upgrading power and cooling facilities to accommodate high power system installations.
"Our web hosting and managed services business for enterprise customers is growing rapidly and the cooling and power capacity requirements are rising faster than anything the industry predicted. The new datacenter will incorporate the latest design techniques and enable Hostway to continue to provide a fast, reliable and secure hosting environment for our customers," said Lucas Roh, CEO of Hostway.
Initial construction will expand Hostway's Chicago datacenter by 50,000 square feet and customer server facilities will be operational by June 2006. "This new datacenter, along with our expansion in both Europe and Asia, further solidifies our worldwide leadership position in the managed hosting space," added Roh. |
