Web Hosting Provider Hostway Reduces Web Page Load Times
August 25, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Hostway (http://www.hostway.com) has reduced web page loading times using a patent-pending technology, the company announced recently. The technology “reduces website abandonment by cutting the time it takes for web pages with large images or multimedia files to load”. The technology will be available through all the company’s “enterprise-level hosting products” including dedicated servers, managed servers, colocation, and data backup.
Hostway’s Edge Caching content delivery network utilizes a group of servers strategically deployed in data centers across four continents (North America, Europe, Asia and Australia). The servers determine the fastest path to speed the data to users. Hostway cites a number of studies that show that people leave websites should they take more than a few seconds to load. Edge Caching “improves the user experience by speeding content to the visitor's browser” which is particularly useful for sites with multiple images, multimedia-heavy websites, and social media sites.
