Web Hosting Provider Hostway Announces .Asia Domain Name Launch

According to Hostway, .Asia is the largest country-code top-level domain name and offers significant potential. The October 9, 2007 launch has an initial ”Sunrise Period” where registered trademark holders and government bodies can register .Asia domain names.

After the initial Sunrise Period, November 13, 2007 to January 15, 2008 will be devoted to organizations with registered names such as companies, and the final ‘landrush’ period begins February 2008. This allows the public to purchase .Asia domains directly. Where there are multiple requests for a domain name, an online auction will take place to establish who should receive it.
