Hurricane Electric Adds a Co-Location Site in Silicon Valley

May 9, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Co-location web hosting and technical service provider, Hurricane Electric, announced plans to open a new co-location facility in Silicon Valley. The new 208,000 square foot facility will complement three other co-location facilities Hurricane Electric operates in San Jose, CA, Fremont, CA and New York, NY.

Hurricane Electric's new building is located in Fremont, CA, less than two miles from its existing Fremont Co-location Facility. At 208,000 square feet, the new facility is more than four times the size of the existing Fremont facility. The new facility will be equipped with onsite staff, high-tech security, digital video surveillance, HVAC environmental systems, conditioned uninterruptible power, and back-up generators. In addition, the new facility will be able to support high-density applications such as blade servers.

"We have experienced tremendous growth over the past few years that has necessitated the opening of another data center. With its size and proximity to so many major networks, the new Fremont facility will give us the room to grow in the long run and become a significant global epicenter of Internet traffic," said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric.

Hurricane Electric's new co-location facility is expected to be ready for customers in four months. Once open, new domestic and international clients will have the choice to co-locate their equipment in the original San Jose facility, the existing Fremont facility, the New York facility, or the new Fremont facility.
