According to the company, more than 250 virtual machines have already been deployed, indicating their immediate popularity. Iland’s infrastructure features a VMware VI Enterprise environment on a VMware ESX platform, and offers substantial hardware, network, and data center redundancy. The company offers customers a “stand by” option which they can utilize “even in the worst disasters”. This creates backup copies of virtual machines which are stored on the company’s Managed Storage Area Network (SAN). iland also has real-time disaster recovery failover options that require minimal staff intervention. In the event of an emergency or disaster, customers can immediately failover to the virtual machines.
