Independent research firm Forrester Research (Forrester) has mentioned cloud management provider
RightScale Inc. (RightScale) in two recent different reports. Forrester, has headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Recognized as a research leader, the company produces annual surveys that reach 500,000 consumers and business leaders around the world. RightScale was mentioned in the ‘The Forrester Wave: Hybrid Cloud Management’ report and ‘The Forrester Wave: Cloud Cost Monitoring and Optimization’ report. Forrester’s hybrid cloud management report considered 12 vendors for current offerings, strategy, and market presence. RightScale received the highest score of all of the vendors included for analysis (4.43 out of 5) and strategy (4.4 out of 5). The report looks into a number of areas for assessment, including cloud platform resources support, automation and orchestration, and cloud service administration and governance and optimization. The number of customers a company has is also considered, as is revenue.
“RightScale focuses solely on HCM solutions and was first to market in the space,” explained the report. “RightScale Cloud Management Platform’s strong native capabilities supplement configuration tooling, templates, or developer experience with preferred third-party options. RightScale’s strengths include a long list of discoverable options, depth of permissions and governance policies, a template designer and broad template library, cost and performance monitoring, API documentation, and customer experience.”
Forrester’s ‘Cloud Cost Monitoring and Optimization’ report looked at nine vendors considering the cloud cost monitoring and optimization solutions they offer enterprises. RightScale received a current offering score of 4.84 out of 5, and a strategy score of 4.3 out of 5. “In 2017, RightScale carved out the cost management and governance features of its hybrid cloud management tool into a tool named Optima that can be purchased separately from the full cloud management platform,” the report suggested. “Similar to the full product, Optima’s governance features are built around a strong policy engine that will automate a wide range of infrastructure asset scheduling and life-cycle management activities.”
