Indian Provider Web Werks Receives DC OIX-2 Certification for Mumbai Data Center
Award-winning Indian provider Web Werks India Pvt Ltd. (Web Werks) has received DC OIX-2 certification for its data center in Mumbai, India. Web Werks, which also has its global headquarters in Mumbai, provides carrier neutral data center services. It offers VPS hosting, cloud services, dedicated servers and collocation options through 5 Tier III and Tier IV data centers, including facilities in the United States. The company received its certification on 1 June 2017 from the Open-IX Association.

The Open-IX Association promotes standards for data center interconnection and Internet exchanges. Managed by volunteers, it aims to “increase the reliability, resiliency and competitiveness of massive-scale interconnection for all”. Established in 2013, it has certified 25 data centers and 16 exchanges to date. OIX-2 is a global certification standard for carrier-neutral data centers. Achieving certification requires centers to meet a rigorous set of requirements. Web Werks Mumbai facility is one a few centers in the region to meet the standard.

"The Open-IX Association is pleased to grant OIX-2 certification to Web Werks data center facility in Mumbai,” added the Open-IX Association’s Co-Founder, David Temkin. “We are excited to see better standards for data center interconnection and Internet exchanges continuously being adopted within key markets across the globe."
