Managed Hosting Provider INetU Gains SAS70 Type II Certification
December 17, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Managed hosting provider INetU has gained SAS70 Type II certification, it was reported recently. SAS70 certification is an auditing standard which indicates that an organization has passed detailed audits of control objectives and activities. The certification is regarded as an “operational benchmark” for the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, Section 404. As INetU has achieved the certification, its customers now need not verify operational controls as far as its hosting is concerned to comply to Sarbanes-Oxley.

SAS70 is available as Type I and Type II certification. INetU obtained Type II, which is regarded as the more thorough as it requires testing of controls (physical premises security, hardware installation and maintenance, etc.). INetU was issued an “unqualified” SAS70 report, which establishes the organization has received third-party auditing that failed to find discrepancies between the company’s stated controls, and the evidence it gathered as evidence of those controls.
