Fastrack Technology has deployed Brocade Vyatta vRouter software networking technology. Fastrack offers "turn-key" managed IT services and infrastructure solutions that improve a business' network collaboration capability. This provides a "new level of agility and scalable delivery" for Fastrack's network, Microsoft Azure and cloud offerings. The move makes the company one of the first to leverage the Brocade Vyatta vRouter software solution for data center operations.
Leveraging Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Brocade Vyatta vRouters runs virtual machines on top of hypervisors to provide routing, firewall, and VPN capabilities that have the same levels of performance as networking platforms with dedicated hardware. Fastrack's is Brocade Vyatta 5400 and 5600 vRouters offer scalability and can be run both on on-premise hardware or cloud infrastructures.
“Brocade Vyatta vRouter technology underpins our solutions at a number of our data centers, and it is essential to have predictable, reliable, and scalable connectivity to provide services into our customers’ sites," Fastrack Technology's Managing Director, Yoni Kirsh. "The core routers from our previous supplier were expensive, unwieldy, and didn’t have the right feature set for us”.
“Brocade’s solution is a huge step forward for us in terms of scalability, agility, and manageability, he added. "We now have the ability to provision cloud connectivity for multiple customers within minutes rather than weeks or months. The vRouters also provide us with very granular traffic monitoring and control to ensure we can accurately measure and deliver against our SLAs. Flow accounting also allows us to accurately track network costs for each customer.”
