Intel Viet Nam and Vietnam’s FPT Cooperate on Web Hosting
| April 26, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Intel Viet Nam and Vietnam’s Financing and Promoting Technology Corporation (FPT) – the country’s largest information technology company – will cooperate to launch a full solution package for web hosting services for small- and medium-sized businesses. The program, named “Server for US$1”, will offer high-performance FPT Elead servers powered by a Quad-core Intel processor. Companies are required to sign a two-year contract to use FPT Telecom’s hosting service at a monthly fee of VND2.5 million ($150), plus a free-of-charge firewall service. Intel is the first major foreign investor in high technology in Vietnam. The company has an investment license to build an assembly and test facility to produce chips and computer parts which will employ approximately 1,200 people. Intel also has a sales and marketing office in Ho Chi Minh City, providing sales and support at the original equipment manufacturer, developer and end-user levels. |
