International Network Service Provider RETN to Add New PoP in Datacenter.com’s Amsterdam AMS1 Facility
International network service provider RETN is to add a new Point-of-Presence (PoP) in Datacenter.com’s Amsterdam ‘AMS1’ facility. RETN, which has headquarters in London, United Kingdom, was established in 2003. The company is “one of the fastest growing independent European network service providers” and offers “a unique capability to connect Europe and Asia”. Its network runs between North America and Asia and through Western Europe. It takes in Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and moves towards China. Alongside network service’s RETN’s services include collocation, DDoS protection, and cloud connection options. Datacenter.com’s AMS1 data center was chosen because it is in Amsterdam, one of the world’s most important Internet hubs.

Datacenter.com, was established in 2015 and alongside its AMS1 data center has its global headquarters in the Dutch capital. Its “100% renewable energy” powered facilities are carrier-neutral and ISO 14001:2015-accredited. The company was in the news recently for being nominated for the ‘Datacloud Awards 2018’ under the ‘Excellence in Data Center Architecture and Design’ category. RETN’s international network uses 220+ network PoPs to connect 36 countries on 3 continents. Its AMS1 PoP will open “connectivity options in the Amsterdam market and beyond”.

“The RETN PoP will significantly expand our global connectivity ecosystem and network services offerings in Amsterdam, especially when it comes to our reach into Eastern Europe and Russia,” explained Datacenter.com’s CEO Jochem Steman. “RETN has a heavy network coverage and data center footprint in these areas while they also have an extensive metro fiber network, with all major Eastern European and Western European cities being connected.”

“Amsterdam is most important to RETN,” added RETN’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Tony O’Sullivan. “The Dutch capital is one of the largest Internet hubs in the world, attracting companies from a wide variety of business sectors who wish to increase their connectivity in a stable, business friendly regulatory environment. RETN is present in all major data centers in Amsterdam. This cooperation with Datacenter.com is a logical step”.
