Internet Security Provider OpenDNS Announces Full Availability of Enterprise Insights
July 5, 2012 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – OpenDNS has announced the availability of its new service Enterprise Insights, the latest service offering from the security network. Following a successful limited release over the past few months, the full service will now be available.

The service will be used to block malware and botnet communications in order to protect its user's networks. Along with this it will also give customers critical visibility regarding the users, machines or devices on their network which have been infected.

Insights will look to protect cloud-based applications in order to cater for the shift towards these applications that previously lacked in security.

OpenDNS CEO David Ulevitch spoke of the latest innovation from the company and its new capabilities. "The introduction of OpenDNS Enterprise Insights is a tremendous engineering accomplishment for OpenDNS and a testament to what it possible today with advanced cloud services like ours."

He continued; "The functionality included in the service, which incorporates real-time threat discovery using the intelligence of a massive, globally-distributed network of 50 million users, as well as security that until now required a complex combination of heavy appliances and software, is truly revolutionary."

Through the new provision from OpenDNS it is now possible to customizable deliver per-user, per-group or per-device security settings via the internet.

The service works through the identification and quarantine of advanced malware threats before eliminating their communication with servers, in order to prevent the attacks.

Shawn Hanks, network security administrator for Jackson Municipal Airport Authority, part of the participants for the Insights program and commented on the progress of the new service. "I've been extremely pleased with OpenDNS Enterprise Insights," said Hanks.

"I was able to make a couple of DNS changes on the server, set up our IP range online, and it started working immediately. The simplicity of the product is also allowing me to focus my time and energy on other tasks."
