January 27, 2009 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Internet Service Provider (ISP) and web host
Zen Internet is offering a colocation service, it was reported recently. The company, which bills itself as one of the UKs leading Internet Service Providers, will offer the service from its head office data center located in Rochdale, United Kingdom.
Zen Internets move comes as a response to increasing customer demand for data center space and it will provide a cost-effective way of securely hosting customers mission critical IT infrastructure. According to the company, both shared and dedicated options are available to suit customers specific requirements.
Colocation is for customers who dont want the hassle of operating their own data center or do not have the necessary equipment or resource to host their mission critical IT infrastructure, explained Zen Internets Senior Product Manager, David Barber. Zen is primarily seen as a broadband provider but we are continually investing in other complimentary products and services such as hosting. We are committed to expanding our hosting portfolio to meet our customers requirements now and so we are delighted to be able to provide this new Colocation service.
Established in 1995, Zen Internet provides a range of web hosting services alongside colocation, including domain name registration, Windows and Linux web hosting, dedicated servers and managed hosting. The company was one of the first ISPs in the UK. Other services it provides include leased lines, IP VPN, voice, managed network security firewalls, online data backup, hosting and web design.
