IT services and communications provider
EarthLink has announced the opening of a new Chicago data center and a new sales office for which it will employee additional staff. The move is intended to expand the company's cloud hosting platform and IT solutions activity, which includes solutions such as its Cloud Workspace, managed security options, colocation, cloud server backup, and application solutions.
EarthLink will also hold a free seminar entitled 'Join the Cloud Evolution' at Wrigley Field in Chicago with the aim of helping to "demystify the cloud for Chicago-area businesses". The seminar will take place on Friday, May 31 and showcase how cloud hosting, dedicated exchange and data center firewalls can help businesses "improve cost structures and mitigate risk". The company's new data center will be introduced at the event, which will also include industry experts from Cisco and NetApp.
Established in 1994, EarthLink provides IT services and communications services to a customer base of around 150,000 businesses and one million consumers across the United States. The company's network provides 8 secure data centers and 90 metro fiber rings alongside 29,421 route fiber miles. It provides services across 90% of the United States.
