IT Solutions and Managed Services Provider Logicalis Partners with IBM SoftLayer
IT solutions and managed services provider Logicalis has formed a partnership with IBM SoftLayer. The company, which has a staff of 3,800 globally, caters to around 6,000 business and government customers. It specializes in offerings that include data center and cloud services and generates annual revenue of around $1.6 billion. The agreement between the two companies sees an expansion of Logicalis cloud service options to European and North American customers.

A Datatec Limited division, Logicalis has a presence in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific. The company prides itself on being able to deliver a team which specializes in the design, deployment and management of “complex IT infrastructures”. To do this, it “maintains strong partnerships” with a diverse range of industry players including VMware, Cisco, HP, CA Technologies, NetApp, Microsoft, IBM, and now IBM Softlayer.

The Logicalis/IBM SoftLayer partnership will help Logicalis develop its cloud and managed services portfolio and was established to meet the needs of businesses that “want to use the cloud to leverage new capabilities and cost savings for their organisations”. Products and services established as a result of the partnership will become available towards the end of 2014.

"Cloud services are becoming relevant to a greater number of organisations from the very small businesses that see cloud as the first choice of infrastructure or software consumption to the very large who view cloud as a credible home for core business applications and workloads," explained Logicalis Group’s President and COO, Mark Rogers. "IBM SoftLayer will provide a new platform on which our architects can design environments that support a range of workloads, and our managed services and cloud service teams can build, host and manage new offerings. We are delighted to have extended our IBM relationship to include SoftLayer and also to have extended Logicalis' position as a cloud services operator, builder, and now cloud service integrator."
