Japanese Multinational Conglomerate Hitachi Realigns Data Center Offerings
With an eye on the current market, Japanese multinational conglomerate Hitachi has realigned its data center offerings. Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, which has headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, has strengthened its cloud and analytics capability with the introduction of a wide range of new hardware and software products.

The corporation has initiated four converged systems that utilize its own servers alongside networking equipment provided by its partners, which include VMware Inc.’s EVO:Rail architecture. Other solutions leverage its own Open Source virtualization software. The corporation suggests that its Hyper Scale-Out Platform provides the perfect tool for "Big Data" workloads. In addition, Hitachi has optimized distributed analytic clusters through independently managing storage via its new G1000 array.

Infrastructure Director, a new software module, is also utilized by Hitachi's new offerings to allow administrators to manage installations. It also incorporates a "recommendation engine" which establishes the capacity that each application needs. A further tool, Instance Director, is used for backups.
