Mr. Jay Ferro has joined managed cloud company
Rackspace. Rackspace has headquarters in Windcrest, Texas, United States. Established in 1998, the company specializes in leveraging AWS, Google, Microsoft, OpenStack and VMware to offer cloud solutions. Its products and services allow companies to benefit from the cloud “without the complexity and cost of managing it all on their own”. Mr. Ferro joins Rackspace as Chief Customer Officer (CCO) and Senior Vice President (SVP).
Mr. Ferro is an industry veteran with 25 years of experience involved in technology strategy and operations. He has held a number of CIO and Chief Technical Office (CTO) positions in his career. Before Rackspace Mr. Ferro held the Acting Chief Information and Technology Officer position at New York-based language services and technologies provider TransPerfect. His role at TransPerfect saw him lead a “global team” and responsible for IT and product development.
Prior to TransPerfect, Mr. Ferro was CITO at ExamWorks, a medical examinations provider. He has also held the Chief Information and Product Officer position at EarthLink (now called Windstream). His career has also seen him in the role of American Cancer Society’s CIO. “I was a Rackspace customer at two of my previous employers, so I know what Rackspace is capable of providing its customers, and the care it puts into each customer relationship,” Mr. Ferro explained.
