Web Host JBWSeries Offers R1Soft Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Solution with cPanel Accounts

The CDP server software application “enables disk-based data protection and disaster recovery for Linux servers and workstations running Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems”.

CDP Server stores “point-in-time” snapshots of data, and provides up to 20 restore points (4 points a day over 5 days). Should a data incident / disaster occur, JBWSeries’ customers can log in to their cPanel and choose which restore point they need, and what type of restore they require, whether it is “a single file” or, as an example, “an entire email account”.

A quick Linux server roll-back can be established by booting a server in “disaster recovery mode”. Once booted a recovery point can be streamed across the network directly onto server hard disks from the CDP Server, facilitating a faster recovery – “20 minutes to an hour” as opposed to “12 to 24 hours to restore an entire 300GB hard drive” using traditional backup approaches.
