The company announced today that the LeWiz TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) HBA received the highest Performance Efficiency Index (P.E.I.) measured using standard benchmarks under high TCP/IP load or varying data sizes.
TOE is an increasingly popular technology for increasing communication speed. When network speed becomes faster than computer processor speed an input/output (I/O) bottleneck is created. The TOE, which is incorporated into the network interface card (NIC) or the host bus adapter (HBA), works through this problem by offloading from the microprocessor and I/O systems.
