Brazil’s Largest Web Hosting Provider Selects SWsoft Virtuozzo

LocaWeb (http://www.locaweb.com.br) has launched Virtual Private Server (VPS) services using Virtuozzo, possibly one of the industry’s most recognized automation and virtualization software brands. Virtuozzo creates multiple, isolated virtual environments - or virtual private servers - on a single physical server and operating system. “Our goal is to guarantee high efficiency and management to companies of all sizes, bringing to the Brazilian market the best solution available today,” explained LocaWeb’s Vice President of Innovation and Technology, Mr. Gilberto Mautner. “SWsoft is excited to partner with market leader LocaWeb to deliver the best VPS services to their customers, both large and small, in Latin America,” added SWsoft’s Vice President of Marketing and Alliances, Mr. Kurt Daniel. “Virtuozzo provides a cost-efficient solution that will enable LocaWeb to deliver a greater variety of hosting services with minimal resources and cost, and take advantage of improved integration resulting from our ongoing OPEN FUSION initiative.” OPEN FUSION is a SWsoft initiative to move its product line “to a common platform to advance integration among a wide range of systems, third-party applications and modules, and custom and in-house solutions”. Brazil has seen a boom in web hosting which has become an important segment of the country’s “emerging Internet economy”. Statistics suggest 30 million Brazilians (16 percent of the population) use the Internet. |
