Managed Application and Cloud Hosting Services Provider Cartika Announces Launch of SPAM-Filtering Service
Managed application and cloud hosting services provider Cartika has announced the launch of a new SPAM-filtering service for “business-critical email”. Cartika, which has headquarters in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, bills itself as “a leader in application hosting and advanced clustering technologies”. The company’s services include cloud computing, virtualization services, and managed hosting options. Its new ‘SPAM-Filtering-as-a-Service’ platform is designed to enhance corporate email management and boost productivity by fighting the “malicious activity that plagues today’s email systems”.

Cartika’s new spam solution is designed for companies that rely on email but want to avoid the expense of a dedicated email server. The solution offers “higher levels of functionality and protection” alongside an “attractive per-domain pricing model”. It can manage spam delivered to Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, and Yahoo accounts, and those of many other email providers. Cartika’s email server can be hosted by the company itself, hosted on its customers’ premises, or even “hosted by another managed services provider”. To avoid companies’ email accounts from being “blacklisted” the solution also filters outgoing email to control what can be sent from a company’s email system.

“For companies where email is business-critical, SPAM-filtering is an essential part of proper email management,” explained Andrew Rouchotas, the CEO of Cartika. “This was a natural extension of our current Microsoft Exchange offering, and the decision to build a SPAM-filtering platform was the result of demand from clients looking for better control over unwanted email to increase user productivity. Also, many of Cartika's customers wanted better protection from malicious activities such as phishing scams and the delivery of viruses through email.”
