Rackspace has announced completion of its acquisition of application management experts TriCore Solutions. With headquarters in Windcrest, Texas, United States, Rackspace is a globally recognized brand established in 1998. The company’s suite of cloud solutions leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, Microsoft, OpenStack and VMware to help companies transition to cloud services “without the complexity and cost of managing it all on their own”. Financial aspects of its acquisition of TriCore Solutions have not been released.
TriCore Solutions, which has headquarters in Norwell, Massachusetts, United States, specializes in enterprise applications management. Its services include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Business Analytics solutions that leverage the products of companies like Oracle and SAP. The company and its staff will be absorbed by Rackspace with the CEO of TriCore, Mark Clayman, reporting to Jeff Cotton, the President of Rackspace. Rackspace has formed a new ‘Enterprise Applications’ division that will “deliver managed services for ERP, business intelligence and analytics, and data warehousing applications”. Mr. Clayman will be in charge of this new division.
The acquisition enables Rackspace to offer managed services to companies in a number of areas (manufacturing, logistics, purchasing, supply chain, financial operations, etc.) that rely on mission-critical enterprise applications and workloads. “We acquired TriCore in response to customer demand,” explained Rackspace’s Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, Matt Bradley. “Customers want a managed application expert to deliver a high-quality service experience at a lower total cost for these complex applications and TriCore has been doing this for nearly two decades – they’ve done an incredible job and now our customers will be able to benefit from their experiences.”
