Managed cloud company Rackspace has acquired employment-related services provider
TriCore. Rackspace, which has headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, United States, operates under the tagline the ‘#1 managed cloud company’. The company offers services that allow its customers to easily transition to the cloud without making major investments. It offers support for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its services include hybrid, cloud, email, and dedicated managed hosting. Alongside managed cloud it also offers VPN options. Financial aspects of its acquisition of TriCore were not released.
TriCore, which has headquarters in Robbinsville Township, Mercer County, New Jersey, United States, was established in 2001. The company targets small to mid-sized companies with services such as its Payroll Cost Management solution which “seamlessly integrate the administration of payroll, employee benefits and employee records”. The company also manages employee benefit plans such as “group health, life, dental and vision insurance, and retirement savings”. Its partners include Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, AWS, and HP.
Rackspace’s acquisition of TriCore brings enterprise applications to its cloud management capability. By adopting products and services that don’t compete with those provided by other public cloud providers, Rackspace opens itself to additional revenue streams.
