Rackspace has acquired ‘Salesforce Platinum Consulting Partner’ RelationEdge. Rackspace, which is based in San Antonio, Texas, United States, was established in 1998. The company bills itself as the “#1 provider of IT-as-a-Service, in today’s multi-cloud world”. Its partners include Alibaba, AWS, Google, Microsoft, OpenStack, Oracle, SAP and VMware, and it provides “unbiased advice on the technologies that will best serve each customer’s specific needs”. Through the acquisition of RelationEdge Rackspace will extend its ability to help companies benefit from the cloud and related software and computing services.
The acquisition enhances Rackspace’s ability to manage its’ customers’ entire range of requirements. RelationEdge, which has headquarters in San Diego, California, United States, was established in 2013. The company is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider and its activities revolve around enhancing Salesforce.com – the leader in cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and marketing software. Its services also extend to areas like email marketing and marketing automation. Financial aspects of the deal were not released, but it was noted that the company and its 125 employees will remain in California and fairly independent of Rackspace.
“We have acquired RelationEdge in response to the growing demand we’re hearing from customers,” explained the EVP and General Manager of Rackspace Application Services, Gerard Brossard in a press release. “Enterprise and midmarket companies are increasingly deploying SaaS applications to enhance business processes across many departments, from sales and marketing to customer service, operations, HR, and finance. These applications are powerful, but also complex to implement and costly to continually keep up-to-date. RelationEdge further extends Rackspace’s unrivaled portfolio and expertise to help companies navigate and operate in the world of ever-changing IT.”
