Rackspace has announced the launch of its new ‘Rackspace Private Cloud Everywhere’ service. With head offices in Windcrest, Texas, United States, Rackspace offers a range of services that allow companies to benefit from the cloud without the costs involved in managing every aspect of cloud transition. Established in 1998, the company’s suite of cloud solutions utilizes cloud providers like AWS, Google, Microsoft, OpenStack and VMware. The launch of Rackspace Private Cloud Everywhere extends Rackspace’s private cloud market leadership.
Rackspace’s new Private Cloud-as-a-Service (PCaaS) service is underpinned by VMware – a solution that facilitates cloud servers and storage in data centers and colocation facilities globally. PCaaS offers a “strategic platform for the majority of workloads” and Rackspace’s latest offering enhances digital transformation by making it available to “more organizations and more applications”. Rackspace Private Cloud Everywhere can be utilized by a user’s data center, making data sovereignty compliance much easier to achieve. By allowing cloud resources to be closer to end users, the solution also enhances performance. According to Rackspace, with PCaaS customers also benefit from a 39% saving in costs when compared to managing all aspects of cloud transition themselves.
“Today marks a new era for the VMware cloud market. For the first time, enterprises can have a fully managed VMware private cloud as a service located wherever their users need it,” explained Rackspace’s Executive Vice President, Private Clouds, Scott Crenshaw. “Rackspace Private Cloud Everywhere makes private cloud the optimal platform for even more enterprises and workloads. Customers receive public cloud-like services, with the ease of migration, security, performance and economic advantages of private clouds.”
