Managed Cloud Services Provider RapidScale Agrees to Acquire the Hosted Infrastructure of Cloud Communications Services Provider Vonage
Managed cloud services provider RapidScale has agreed to acquire the hosted infrastructure of cloud communications services provider Vonage. RapidScale, which has global headquarters in Irvine, California, United States, was established in 2008. The company offers a wide range of Infrastructure-as-a Service (IaaS), Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS), Desktop-as-a Service (DaaS) and Hosted Microsoft Exchange options. Its services extend to its proprietary CloudServer, CloudDesktop, CloudOffice, CloudMail, CloudRecovery and CloudApps offerings. The acquisition will see RapidScale’s expand its business on the East Coast of the United States and open an office in Tysons, Virginia, United States.

Vonage is a “global, leading provider of cloud communications services for business” which “transforms the way people work and businesses operate”. The company offers a range of solutions designed to improve productivity and collaboration within organizations. There is a close fit between its the products and services and those offered by RapidScale, and the acquisition will see RapidScale absorb the bulk of Vonage’s business unit activity and all of its staff.

RapidScale will acquire Vonage’s IaaS, Microsoft Skype for Business, Virtual Desktop, Hosted Firewall, Backup, Hosted Exchange, and Hosted Firewall activity. Vonage’s customers will be transitioned to RapidScale’s dynamic platforms which offers the benefit of “self-service provisioning portals” which manage all aspects of RapidScale’s accounts.

I am excited to address these growing needs for the customers we are acquiring and to provide them with a great cloud experience.”
