Datapipe is helping nonprofit organization ToolBank USA enhance its capability to track and monitor tools when providing assistance during natural disasters.
Through its ToolBank Disaster Services program, ToolBank USA aims to ensure that the tools charities need are available when disaster strikes. The vast array of tools it manages includes ladders, drills, shovels, and circular saws. With ToolBanks located across the United States, the organization helps charities and volunteers be as effective as possible at times of crisis.
Datapipe offers a range of HIPAA and PCI-compliant services including private and public cloud, storage, and disaster recovery services. The company operates data centers both across the United States and in Iceland, the United Kingdom, China (Hong Kong and Shanghai) and Singapore. Its solution for ToolBank USA allows it to track all its tools in real-time through a platform that offers scalability and flexibility. Most importantly, ToolBank USA need not worry that its system might go down.
Datapipe and ToolBank USA have had a partnership since 2010. Datapipe has donated infrastructure and services that allows ToolBanks to know where its tools are at any given moment. The system was recently put through its paces when tornadoes in the US state of Arkansas destroyed more than 400 homes. The organization sent a mobile unit to the area and provided volunteers with the tools and equipment they needed to start rebuilding what they had lost. Datapipe's system tracked 2,000 volunteers' usage of $50,000 worth of tools over a 4-week period.
