Managed Hosting Provider Fusepoint Achieves 10 Years of Continued Revenue Growth

February 17, 2010
February 17, 2010 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Fusepoint Managed Services, a leading provider of outsourced managed IT and infrastructure services in Canada, has announced financial results for the 2009 fiscal year. Fusepoint ended the year with $47.3 million in revenue and also experienced 40% EBITDA growth in 2009 with continued positive Net Income gains. Having made significant investments in its facilities’ power and cooling capabilities as well as data centre management technology, such as Opsware, Fusepoint continues to realize improved economies of scale from its business model, which translates into meaningful EBITDA growth.

Fusepoint marked its 10th anniversary by building on its customer roster of leading organizations which includes Qtrade Financial Group, Expedia CruiseShipCenters, Electric Mail Company, Central Tax, Canadian Direct Insurance, BC Hydro’s Powerex, Kinross Gold, Mountain Equipment Coop, Sirius Satellite Radio, and Rogers Communications Inc.

The company also announced the successful completion of its third annual Tier 1 Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS certification. This data protection standard, created by the payment card industry, aims to secure credit cardholder information wherever it resides. PCI DSS applies to organizations that store, process or transmit cardholder information, and outlines steps that merchants and service providers must take to achieve compliance. Non-compliance can be costly, as companies that do not meet PCI’s 12 requirements run the risk of not being able to conduct business with leading credit card companies including Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

In addition, Fusepoint most recently achieved its annual audits for CICA 5970 and SAS70 Type II for the fiscal year 2010, as well as Microsoft’s Gold Hosting Competency, maintaining its leadership as one of the most certified managed hosting providers in Canada.

“As the managed services provider to some of the country’s most recognized brands, we continually listen to our clients evolving needs and seek innovative solutions as well as certifications to differentiate our breadth of offering from other providers,” said George Kerns, President and CEO of Fusepoint. “As cloud computing continues to make in-roads in enterprise IT, Fusepoint is positioning to provide a higher level of private cloud hosting to complement our traditional managed services offering.”

Currently a VMware Authorized Hosting provider, Fusepoint plans to expand its managed private cloud hosting solutions by incorporating VMware’s next generation vSphere platform as well as introducing support for Microsoft’s virtualization product, Hyper-V.
