Managed Hosting Provider GigeNET Poised to Release Monitoring-as-a-Service
Managed hosting provider GigeNET is poised to release a new Monitoring-as-a-Service solution. GigeNET, which describes itself as “a pioneer” having started operations in the 1990s, has headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, and data centers in Los Angeles, California and Washington, D.C., United States, and in Canada. The company offers a range of services including dedicated, cloud, hybrid, and colocation hosting options. It also provides ProxyShield(R), a “state-of-the-art” proprietary DDoS protection solution.

While many companies offer Monitoring-as-a-Service options, GigeNET intends to “improve on the experience instead of just providing a service that their customers expect”. The service, which will be available “early 2016”, has been designed based on several months of discussions to decide which features would enhance user experience and add value to customers’ businesses. The end product will offer customers “more insight on their servers, allowing them to spend less time researching and spend more time on more pressing matters”.

Using GigeNET Monitoring the company’s customers will be able to monitor CPU and memory usage, as well as establish usage levels for hard drives and process lists. The service offers a series of alerts that provide users with feedback on potential issues and how to deal with them. These notifications including email and SMS options. Users will also receive checks “based on the location of their systems”. Should the monitoring service experience issues, checks “will fall back to other locations”. All aspects of the service are available through a “minimalistic”, easy to use dashboard.
