Managed service provider NetXpress LLC (
NetXpress) has rolled out technology provided by network firm Metamako. NetXpress, which has headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, United States, provides managed services, catering specifically to the financial industry. The company offers a broad range of products and services including colocation, data center services, private clouds, Disaster Recovery (DR) and Virtual Private Networks (VPN). It has rolled out Metamako's “ultra-low latency” Layer 1 and FPGA-enabled switches.
Metamako, which has headquarters in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, was established in 2013. The company is recognized as a “leading provider of high-performance, low-latency network solutions”. Its products and services extend to data center services, switches and switching technology, and network devices. Like NetXpress, Metamako caters specifically to the global financial services sector. Together NetXpress' connectivity solution and Metamako's Layer 1 and FPGA-enabled switches offer “native market access to trading clients such as banks, hedge funds, proprietary trading shops and ISVs”. By leveraging Metamako's Layer 1 technology NetXpress has established a “truly low-latency shared solution by removing all unnecessary hops from their network” to enhance client trade latency more than tenfold.
