Managed Services Provider Datapipe Opens Moscow Data Center
Managed services provider Datapipe has opened a new data center in Moscow - the company’s first in Russia. Datapipe, which also has a presence in the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Singapore, was established in 1998. The company bills itself as offering solutions that enable businesses to optimize, manage and secure “mission-critical IT services for the enterprise”. The move to Russia strengthens Datapipe’s presence in Europe and helps the company address Russia’s increasing demand for ecommerce solutions.

Ecommerce has seen substantial growth in Russia. In 2015 the company had 30 million online shoppers in Russia who placed 148 million online orders. In 2015, 160 million ‘small packages’ were sent as a response to online shopping. This was “up 10 percent from the previous year”. By setting up a data center in Moscow, Datapipe can operate in Russia and allow its customers to meet Russia’s strict data sovereignty legislation. The new data center is Datapipe’s fifth to date.

“The new center in Moscow continues our strategic global expansion allowing our clients to take advantage of the rapidly growing e-commerce industry in Russia,” explained the CEO of Datapipe, Robb Allen. “Many enterprises are focused on Russia in anticipation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup – this expansion enables us to more effectively partner with them.”
