Managed Services Provider REAN Cloud Wins Major DoD Contract

Managed services provider REAN Cloud has won a major Department of Defense (DoD) contract in the United States. REAN Cloud, which has headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, United States, is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Premier Partner and offers managed services for hyperscale integrated Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) providers. The company supports “the entire cloud services lifecycle” and offers rigorous compliance, security and big data and analytics services that help enterprise customers “operating in highly regulated environments” such as financial services, healthcare, education and the public sector. These customers include the American Heart Association, USTRANSCOM, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and Ditech Mortgage. The DoD’s contract is reportedly worth up to $950 million.
The five-year DoD contract is designed to establish a “streamlined process” and “groundbreaking model” of automated pricing and procurement that will enable DoD agencies to acquire cloud solutions and services directly from the company. The company worked alongside the Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx) to establish the model. Leveraging REAN Cloud's platform, DoD organizations and staff will more quickly benefit from the savings inherent in the cloud, even for complex mission-critical requirements.
"Our experience has taught us that to get the full benefit of the cloud, you have to think differently,” REAN Cloud managing partner, Sekhar Puli. “The speed and agility that our patent-pending technology brings to cloud migration and operations invites a similarly nimble approach for the government. With Firm Fixed-Pricing (FFP) and automated procurement, we are changing old mindsets of typical vendor relationships. Our DoD customers can now achieve the same efficiencies available to the commercial sector as they seek to design, migrate, automate, manage and scale systems and databases running in the cloud."
