NASA JPL RFI on Web Hosting Services

August 10, 2006
10 August 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – The California Institute of Technology’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), operating under NASA, has submitted a Request for Information (RFI) for web hosting services. The JPL Information Technology web service currently hosts approximately 750 web sites on its own servers along with another 1,000 hosted internally by sponsoring organizations.

The RFI seeks information from major web hosting providers regarding their experience providing “enterprise-quality” hosting for private companies or government. The information hosts provide will help JPL determine its approach to web hosting, particular whether there could be cost and service advantages should they purchase web hosting services.

JPL Information Technology requires reports of issues such as migration; control panels, developer support software and utilities; Wikis and blogs; bandwidth, performance; management; content ownership and Intellectual Property; and costs. Hosts that are interested should visit the JPL Business Opportunities Office at the following email address: maryhelen.ruiz@jpl.nasa.gov.
