Networking Company Cisco Acquires California Software Company Cloupia
San Jose, California-based networking company Cisco has acquired Santa Clara, California-based software company Cloupia. The purchase was announced December 10, 2012 and includes Cloupia's data center infrastructure management solutions and staff who will join Cisco's Data Center Group.

The deal was reported to be worth around $125 million with payment in cash and retention-based incentives.

Cloupia's solutions will be merged with Cisco's data center management offerings to enable companies and providers to reduce costs by automating data center management and IT services, and by deploying and configuring physical and virtual data center resources such as storage, computing power and virtual machines from a single control panel.
