New Zealand Cloud Provider Catalyst Cloud Opens Third Region in Hamilton
New Zealand cloud provider Catalyst IT Limited (Catalyst Cloud) has opened a third region in Hamilton, New Zealand. With headquarters in Wellington, New Zealand, Catalyst Cloud offers a range of services including support for the Moodle Open Source (OS) learning management system and the Drupal Content Management System (CMS), as well as a number of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions like document management and IT consulting. The opening of the new region is a response to increased adoption of Catalyst Cloud’s services and it sits alongside the company’s existing regions in Porirua and Wellington, New Zealand.

Catalyst Cloud’s object storage system offers New Zealand businesses a number of benefits as it now replicates data across three New Zealand regions. The additional region adds to the geographic diversity Catalyst Cloud’s customer benefit from and provides additional support for its disaster recovery and business continuity options. It is worthy of note that Amazon Web Services (AWS) only has one region located in Sydney with failover at a number of international regions including in Asia and in the United States.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer our customers services that enable them to run mission critical applications on the cloud, and meet their business continuity requirements in New Zealand,” suggested Catalyst’s General Manager Cloud Mr. Bruno Lago on the company’s website.
