Novosoft LLC Adds Remote Linux Backup to Handy Backup
Data backup solutions provider Novosoft LLC has added a new "Remote Linux Backup" to the new version of its Handy Backup solution, the company announced recently. The new version enables backups for Linux-based computers and mixed Windows-Linux networks. The solution is free for current Handy Backup Network Server users.

"In today's corporate networks Windows and Linux systems are often observed to be neighbors," explained Head of Handy Backup Business Development Department, Aleks Dolgushev. "Windows is commonly on user computers, while servers and network storage are running under Linux. Each system requires an individual approach in backup. It is therefore important to use specialized backup solutions. Now, Handy Backup offers a specialized one, but a single solution for backing up of mixed Windows-Linux networks."

According to Novosoft, Windows-Linux backup offers a number of features including single control panel backup for both Windows and Linux machines. In addition, Handy Backup Software for Linux offers increased convenience for network storage. The new solution can be installed on “Network Attached Storage” and utilizes an “exclusive algorithm of differential backup” to offer high speed data transfer. Rather than sending all files to storage, the system’s backup scheme transfers only changed files. The solution also offers a scheduler that allows users to predetermine transfer times and transfer rates.
